IBEW System Council 11 Settles Contract with Canadian National (rail)

IBEW members ratify CN Rail contract

MONTREAL, May 25 /CNW/ - The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers today released results of the CN signal and communications workers' vote on a new collective agreement. The new contract won 75% support with a 75% participation rate.

"IBEW solidarity makes our union strong," says Kevin Kearns, General Chairperson. "Many local members and local representatives worked very hard to put together this agreement."

The four-year agreement features a 13% wage increase (3,3,3,4), a signing bonus, improved vacation pay and improved benefits.

IBEW System Council No. 11 members install, maintain and repair railwaysignals and communications systems including highway warning systems, fibreoptic networks and centralized traffic control systems. The union representsover 700 CN employees across Canada as well as signal and communicationsworkers at CP, ONTC, TTR and 14 other Canadian railways.
