New Mexico Contractors work with IBEW to Build the Future

NM's uranium enrichment facility featured on Web TV

New Mexico Business Weekly

ElectricTV.net is featuring the uranium enrichment facility under construction Eunice, New Mexico, in its latest edition of the Web TV program.

ElectricTV.net is a joint production of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and is the only Web TV program dedicated to reporting the latest developments in the electrical construction and information systems industries.

Louisiana Energy Services is constructing the $1.5 billion facility -- the first uranium enrichment installation to be built in the U.S. in more than 30 years.

Louisiana Energy CEO Gregory Smith said the feature on the facility reflects the unique partnership between the three NECA contractors and hundreds of IBEW workers involved in the project.

"These people are sophisticated, they know what they're doing," Gregory said in a news release. "They're meeting and exceeding not only the schedule but the engineering requirements."

Also on the program is an interview with Greenpeace founding member Patrick Moore about the benefits of nuclear energy.
