High Tech Electric was recently listed at number 28 of the top 100 fastest growing entrepreneurial companies in America in the June 2004 issue of Entrepreneur Magazine after topping off at number 53 in 2003. This marks the second year in a row that the company has made this prestigious list of entrepreneurs and the publication lists the secrets of High Tech's success as: "Take care of our workers, and they will take care of us."

Mark C. Pottebaum and Roger Dahlstrom founded High Tech Electric in 2001 with no other employees and a $90,000 initial investment. Today the company employs 115 and had sales of more than $9 million in 2003. In addition to the offices in Sioux City and Des Moines, the company recently opened a third office in Pickstown, S.D., to serve Yankton, Vermillion, Sioux Falls and the surrounding area.

High Tech Electric is dedicated to meeting the electrical needs of commercial and industrial customers with an experienced team that includes estimators, project managers, electricians, technicians and an in-house engineering staff. The company offers prompt, efficient and professional services that include, new construction, voice data and video communications, security and alarm systems, lighting protection and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.

When asked to what he attributed HTE's success, Pottebaum stated, "Sioux City, Des Moines and southeastern South Dakota, are presently enjoying a thriving economy and our company has been able to take advantage of a very healthy construction market. We use a team approach on all of our projects and place the customers needs above all else. High Tech Electric is proud to be a union contractor and many of out highly trained staff are members of I.B.E.W. Local 231."
