RIP retired IBEW Local 1547 Brother Gary Burlison

Gary Burlison, 68

Former Alaska resident Gary L. Burlison, 68, of Kalama, Wash., died Jan. 20, 2006, in Longview, Wash.

A celebration of life was held at his home.

Mr. Burlison was born July 3, 1937, in Fillmore, Calif. He graduated from Yakima High School in 1955.

He was an IBEW electrical inside wireman, foreman and general foreman for more than 45 years. A resident of Alaska from 1976 until 1996, he worked out of IBEW Local 1547 and also worked as building supervisor at Kuparuk Industrial Camp for the North Slope Borough.

His family wrote: "Gary was a golfer, fisherman and a traveler. He was a man of many talents. He accomplished his goal of building his dream home for himself and his wife. Honesty and loyalty were only a few of his great qualities."

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; daughters, Lori Ito-Wilcox and Stephanie Burlison; son, Jeff Burlison; father, Hal Burlison; brother, Bud Burlison; stepchildren, Renee Obrycki and Roger Iversen; nine grandchildren; aunt, Oneta Denson; and niece and nephews.
