IBEW Local 481 (Indianapolis) Sponsored Event Holding Auditions October 10 and 12

Auditions
Stage Actors' Workshop will hold auditions for "A Christmas Carol" at 5 p.m. Oct. 9 and 7 p.m. Oct. 10 and 12 at 1200 Madison Ave. Roles are available for seven women and seven men (ages 18 to 80). Those auditioning will read from the script. Performances will be Dec. 15-29. Call (317) 698-6583 or (317) 887-2109.Contractors of Quality Connection and Electrical Workers of IBEW Local 481 will conduct auditions for a variety of acts for Circle of Lights -- the city's annual holiday lighting ceremony on Monument Circle -- at 6 p.m. Thursday at the IBEW Local 481 Hall, 1828 N. Meridian St. Those auditioning should prepare a number or act (no longer than two minutes) with a holiday theme. Group size cannot exceed 25. A keyboard and microphones will be provided. Auditioners should provide their own keyboardist; CD and cassette tracks also are accepted. Call (317) 594-0743.

The Scottish Rite Performing Arts Center will stage auditions for "Miracle on 34th Street" at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 and 12 at 650 N. Meridian St. Those auditioning should prepare a two-minute monologue, bring a photograph and a resume, and come prepared to read from the script. Roles are available for 30 people of all ages, including a 6- to 8-year-old boy or girl, a man age 25-40 and a woman age 25-40. The production will run Dec. 8-23.

Epilogue Players will conduct auditions for three one-act plays, "Emissary," "Just a Song at Twilight" and "The Cat Connection," at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 and 7 p.m. Oct 19 at the theater, 1849 N. Alabama St. Roles are available for two men ages 20-39, two men ages 60-79, two women ages 20-39, five women ages 60-79, and one girl age 14-16. Performances will be Jan. 6-22. Call (317) 251-8445.

Workshops and classes

The Artists' Studio offers open-enrollment beginning acting and tap-dancing classes for adults (ages 18 and older) at 12180 Ford Drive, Fishers. Cost: $168 (acting) and $112 (tap dancing) for the eight-week series. Call (317) 594-5070
